The director of "Aquaman" will produce in a horror film of the new franchise of the cinematographic seal.

Universal Pictures partners with "Aquaman" director James Wan in a horror / suspense film inspired by the monstrous legacy of the movie label. Details of the untitled project are sparse, but Wan is ready to produce even though a director has not been established.

The announcement comes a week after the better-than-expected debut of Universal's "The Invisible Man," a modern take on the 1933 studios film of the same name. Other universal monster titles from that era include Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Wan is producing through his banner Atomic Monster, responsible for other projects such as "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It", starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson and which will be released on September 11; and "Mortal Kombat", which is scheduled for release on January 15, 2021.

Universal had planned to create a Monsterverse when it released “The Mummy,” starring Tom Cruise, in 2017. The studio's next monster movie, “The Invisible Man,” grossed $ 57 million worldwide on a budget of $ 7 million. of dollars in less than two weeks.

Wan, on the other hand, is also on board the sequel to "Aquaman." His other directing credits include "Saw," the first two films on "Insidious," the first two films on "Conjuring" and "Furious 7." The filmmaker is represented by CAA, Stacey Testro International and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light LLP.

San Diego Comic-Con at Home This Summer / Movie

Many major pop culture conventions have been canceled thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But perhaps the most crushing blow was the official cancellation of San Diego Comic-Con, the world's largest geek gathering, covering all of its favorite movie franchises, TV shows, comics, podcasts, and more, as well as new and exciting projects in the future. However, event organizers will try to save the convention with a San Diego Comic-Con in-house experience this summer.

In the announcement video above, Comic-Con At Home scoffs by pointing out all the things you won't have to worry about while attending the convention from home. There's free parking, comfortable seats, no waiting, your favorite snacks that don't cost an arm and a leg, and even your pets can attend.

However, all we know now is that Comic-Con At Home is happening this summer. It remains to be seen any details about what the virtual event will entail. There will surely be remote panels included as part of the convention, but it is unknown who will participate, especially when it comes to film studios that are suffering financial damage. Sure, there is a possibility that we will have panels for upcoming films like Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow, but we will have to wait and see.

Hopefully the San Diego Comic-Con At Hoe event will also include access to exclusive products that attendees would find on the showroom floor. Perhaps you can even promote artists who normally sell their work at Artist Alley, which happened with WonderCon last month.

We'll make sure to keep you up to date on what's happening with San Diego Comic-Con At Home, and we hope there is enough to distract us for at least a few days later this summer. Stay tuned for more.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, the new adventure of SpongeBob

SpongeBob Square Pants, his best friend Patrick Star, and the rest of the Bikini gang hit the big screen in the first all-digital SpongeBob movie. After Gary, SpongeBob's beloved pet snail, is kidnapped, our hero and Patrick set out on an epic adventure to the Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary back home. As they circumvent the pleasures and dangers of this risky but hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his friends will prove that there is nothing stronger than the power of friendship.

We had the opportunity to chat with Thomas Kenny, who lends his voice to the iconic SpongeBob.

How do you feel about returning to this latest installment of one of the most beloved family franchises by adults and children? “It doesn't really feel like it's a comeback because for me SpongeBob has never stopped. For 20 years channeling Stephen Hillenburg's soft alter ego has been a big part of my job, and it's been a really fun experience. That said, the process of working on an animated movie is different than doing television episodes, it's fun to go back to 'big screen movie mode'! ”

What can you tell us about the new SpongeBob adventure? "As a great poet once said: 'There is no love like the love of a sponge for its snail.' There are many things that I can't talk about yet, but I can say that when Gary - SpongeBob's precious pet - disappears, SpongeBob and his faithful friend Patrick embark on an unexpected adventure-filled journey that will go out of their way to get it back. "

What has been the most fun about playing SpongeBob all these years? “I can say with 100% certainty that I have the best job in show business. The cast still feels full of energy on every recording and SpongeBob writers and artists are the best in the business. I don't know how they do it, but they continue to offer us funny, silly and crazy situations to wrap our vocal cords around! ”
